Döntés

Anders nem habozott sokáig, és a veszélyes műtét mellett döntött. Döntését azzal indokolta, hogy feleségével együtt szeretne megöregedni, és vele együtt nevelni öt gyermeküket. Bár a műtét csökkentette a rák kockázatát, a család élete örökre megváltozott. Az apának három évébe telt, mire felépült a gyomorműtétből, amit csak napi szintű, fegyelmezett edzéssel tudott megoldani.

@livingreframed I used to stop in my tracks in awe of the miracle our marriage is. But after coaching hundreds of wives, husbands, and couples, I’ve come to realize our marriage isn’t an anomaly. Most (not all) couples can save their marriage. Is it easy? Nope. We couldn’t get past our hurt and what we “deserved.” At one point I truly believed the lie that Andy was not the man I was supposed to marry and that I had heard God wrong. 😂 We laugh now but at the time, I was dead serious. What are the lies that contributed to the hopelessness? 1. It shouldn’t be this hard. 2. He’s changed and he’s not the same person I married. (ummm thank God.) 3. I don’t love him anymore. 4. He’ll never change. 5. All men are the same. 6. Marriage is impossible and nobody survives. 7. He’s not who I thought he was. 8. Everyone else seems to have it figured out. 9. Nobody else fights as much as we do. 10. He doesn’t love me. 11. He’s not holding up his end of the bargain. 12. This isn’t fair. I could go on and on. But the narrative we tell ourselves will either bring our marriage life or death. Some marriages should and need to end. But I had to look into my five children’s eyes and tell them I tried everything and until I focused on MY healing, I couldn’t say that. There is so much hope in healing. Do the hard work and then see what your marriage looks like.
